4 stars Great price and good quality 2010-02-21

This is the third pair of Tunebuds I have purchased. I have a daily commute to work via light rail and I love these earbuds for that purpose. They are vert durable which is important to me. I love the cord; It is covered in a fabric and does not tangle nearly as much as others I have had. I keep one pair on my nightstand, my husband took one pair, and I have the pair I keep in my messenger bag for work. Not flashy, not the world's best sound, but for the price, they work perfectly for me.

5 stars 3rd time around 2010-02-11

I lost 1st pair on the freeway (don't ask). Washed my 2nd pair in the washer and dryer; they still work on one side, so they are my "back up" pair that I leave in my car. So, I bought a 3rd pair for myself and my wife.

1 stars They don't hold up to use 2009-12-29

I had hoped that these buds would be more durable than the Apple earbuds for iPhone, every pair of which I've tried has shorted out in no time. The fabric cover on the Griffin product made it seem much more likely to hold up.

Alas, it was not to be. After less than three months of daily use, my Griffin TuneBuds have developed a short in one channel, just like the Apple product.

Is there no set of earbuds for iPhone which will hold up to being carried in a pocket? If I can get Amazon to accept a return, I may try one more pair. Maybe wrapping the connection between the plug and the cable in tape will do the trick.

P.S. I had no problem with the fabric cover making noise when it rubbed against my clothing. I don't know why it was an issue for other people but not for me.

2 stars Sounds like my 1984 cassette player 2009-12-27

I tried to like these, but their sound quality is so poor--even with the great price for replacement iPhone headphones. The product's phone functionality works fine, but they are a failure as headphones. Maybe I got a bum pair that made it through a quality screen in error. The highs are hissy, their are non-existant low-mids, and their is a background hiss. My cheap, off-brand cassette player from 1984 would give Griffin Tunebuds a run for their money in terms of audio quality.

I have had great luck with cheap, neodynium magnet, sound-isolating headphones from J-Labs, Sony, and Skull Candy. I assumed that I could get a phone headset and decent headphones in one package for $20-$30 in the Griffin Tunebuds, but I basically got a serviceable headset. I am not going to return them, but you can bet I wont be listening to music with them. I am listening to them as a write this--wow, so bad!

1 stars Go with an alternative, heres why: 2009-12-16

The audio quality of these headphones is ok, not high end but really not bad for the price. One major problem is that the fabric covering of the cord, while nice, maximizes the noise you hear from the cord rubbing up against clothing.

The most annoying problem however, is that the in line mic is placed at the PERFECT height to catch on collared shirts. I wear a button down almost every day, which makes the tug I get from my headphones every time I turn my head beyond annoying. About two inches lower with the mic and it would be perfect, but if you plan to wear this with collared shirts (think oxfords), you'll be constantly readjusting your right earpiece after its tugged out.

These two problems are major annoyances, and I would switch to another model because of this design flaw. As these are 'design' flaws, and not quality issues, I wouldn't right off the brand entirely, just this model.
